YWCA Jamestown
The YWCA is a well-established nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women, eliminating racism, and promoting peace, justice, and freedom for everyone. Situated in my hometown, YWCA Jamestown has been a steadfast supporter of the local community for many decades. In my role as a Design Intern, I have contributed to these outreach efforts by creating thoughtful and visually engaging graphics for social media campaigns, various community events, and important fundraisers.
Last year, I had the opportunity to contribute to the YWCA Jamestown’s annual Women of Achievement event: a celebration that honors women in our community who are making a lasting impact through leadership, service, and advocacy. The event brings together local leaders, families, and supporters for an inspiring evening that highlights the power of women’s voices and accomplishments.
As part of the design team, I worked closely with a senior designer to bring the event’s visual identity to life. Together, we created a cohesive suite of materials including the event program, place cards, presentation slides, and custom name buttons for honorees and guests. From layout and typography to color schemes and print production, I gained hands-on experience in designing for a large-scale, mission-driven event. This project allowed me to strengthen my collaborative design skills while supporting a cause that aligns deeply with my values.

Coldest Night of the Year 25’
As the Campaign Manager for the Coldest Night of the Year 2025 at YWCA Jamestown, I led the outreach and design efforts for this community-driven fundraising walk, which supports individuals experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness. In my role as Social Media and Graphic Design Intern, I created a comprehensive suite of campaign materials: including flyers, digital presentations, and engaging social media content that fused the event’s identity with YWCA Jamestown’s brand in a cohesive and impactful way. Through strategic outreach, consistent visual storytelling, and community engagement, our team surpassed fundraising goals and strengthened awareness around our mission. This experience deepened my passion for using design as a tool for social impact.
These design decisions were all made to support a user experience that feels intuitive, inclusive, and calming: reflecting both the goals of the product and the needs of the users.
Giving Tuesday 25’
For YWCA Jamestown’s 2024 Giving Tuesday campaign, I developed a vibrant and future-focused brand identity that centered around the theme of the “dream gap”—the societal barriers that limit young girls’ aspirations. As the Social Media and Graphic Design Intern, I crafted a cohesive visual campaign using bold colors, youthful symbols, and intentional messaging to highlight why now is the time to support nonprofits like ours for the next generation of women. Through a series of engaging and educational social media posts, we captured our audience’s attention and inspired action in support of our mission.
